How to Review and Edit the AI Music Video Storyline in Workflow
A Storyline is the narrative plan Workflow writes after you choose a creative direction. It divides the selected music into timed sections and explains what should happen in each scene. It is not the finished video, the final video prompt or a manual editing timeline.
Step 1: Review the scene timing
Each storyline entry shows a time range from the selected song section and a corresponding story description. The scene count follows the generation mode's clip duration. For example, 24 seconds at an 8-second target becomes three scenes; a short final segment is still generated as a full clip for credit purposes.
Read the scenes in order. Check that moments such as an opening, verse, musical build or chorus have a visually appropriate role.
Step 2: Edit an individual scene
You can change the text of an individual scene. Keep each scene's action focused on what can reasonably happen during a short generated clip. Instead of asking one 5-second scene to show a character arriving, meeting a friend, performing a long dance and leaving, split the idea across the existing scene entries.
Example adjustment:
Before: A singer travels through several cities, meets the band and plays an entire concert.
After: The singer steps onto a small stage. A slow camera move reveals the band waiting behind her.
Step 3: Export and re-import a storyline template
For larger edits, you can export the storyline template, make the changes, and import the edited version. This can be useful when you already have a scene plan or want to work on multiple descriptions outside the page. Keep the expected structure intact when editing the template.
Step 4: Request a full storyline rewrite (paid)
Paid users may regenerate the entire storyline using a description. This is useful when the story's overall approach is wrong rather than one or two scene details. Free users see an upgrade prompt for this action.
Step 5: Confirm the storyline
When you are satisfied, confirm the storyline. Workflow then creates the task, prepares each scene's video prompt and starts generating first-frame images. At that point the URL includes ?taskId=...; first-frame credits are charged as those images generate.
Important: If you close the page before confirming the storyline, you cannot resume this planning step using a task ID. You will need to repeat the generation flow.
FAQs
Is the storyline already a video prompt?
No. The storyline is the narrative backbone. Workflow turns it into per-scene video prompts after you confirm it.
Can I rearrange the generated clips here?
No. Workflow has a planned scene sequence rather than an Editor-style timeline. Use BeatViz Editor for manual timeline controls.
Can I recover a storyline I did not confirm?
Not through task drafts. Task recovery becomes available after the storyline is confirmed and the task is created.
