How to Review First Frames and Video Prompts Before Rendering

Once you confirm a Workflow storyline, BeatViz prepares one video prompt for each scene and starts generating the first-frame images. This is the stage to check visual consistency before using the more expensive video-rendering credits.

What appears in the scene preview?

Before moving video is generated, the page labels the collection Storyboard; after video rendering starts it becomes Preview. On a desktop, a scene list on the left helps you jump to individual cards. Each card shows the scene's time range, first frame, video prompt and generation status.

The first-frame image defines the intended opening appearance of a clip: subject, setting, composition and much of the visual direction. The video prompt describes what happens in motion afterward.

Each scene card shows the first frame, video prompt, timing, and generation status.

Step 1: Wait for the first frames to finish

Workflow generates first frames only after storyline confirmation. Standard uses Nano Banana 2 at 3 credits per scene; Pro and Premium use Seedream 5 Pro at 5 credits per scene. These charges are separate from later video charges. If an image-generation job fails, the related image credits are returned.

You cannot start Generate All Videos until all required first frames have finished successfully. Fix any failed frame first.

Step 2: Inspect each opening image

Open an image larger if necessary and look for:

  • The correct character or characters, especially in a multi-scene narrative.
  • The intended location and scene composition.
  • The visual style chosen during setup.
  • A starting pose that makes sense for the next motion.

If a frame has the wrong face, it is better to fix the frame than to hope the later video prompt will fix it automatically.

Confirm the character, setting, and framing on every first frame before you spend video credits.

Step 3: Replace or regenerate a frame

You can view, download or replace a first frame with an image from this task's library. Paid users may regenerate a first frame. The regeneration interface lets you edit its prompt and attach up to four reference images; the task's character reference is inserted first when applicable, but can be removed.

This is not a sitewide media picker. The task library contains the first frames generated in this task, plus the current scene's previously used frame.

Step 4: Review the video prompt

Open each scene's video prompt and update incorrect details. Prompts are limited to 5,000 characters. In a video-regeneration dialog, Generate with AI can propose alternative prompt versions for you to choose from.

Useful prompts usually name one clear action, appropriate camera motion and the scene's atmosphere. Do not use a prompt to specify identity in conflict with an established character reference and first frame.

What about the last frame?

Workflow does not automatically generate an end frame during the initial storyboard stage. For a compatible video-regeneration path, you can later add an optional End Frame in the General controls.

FAQs

Do I pay video credits when the first frames appear?

No. First-frame generation and video generation are billed at different steps. See Workflow Credits.

Can I start all videos if one first frame failed?

No. Repair or regenerate the failed frame first.

What if the person in a first frame is wrong?

Replace or regenerate that first frame before generating the clip. See Character Consistency.
