How to Keep Characters Consistent in BeatViz Workflow 2.0

Character drift usually shows up on an opening keyframe before it shows up in motion. Fix the still, the @mention, and the references for that clip. Regenerating the entire storyboard is optional.

Add a clear character photo

Upload up to five photos on Music Analysis or Storyboard. Use a sharp, well-lit image of the same person you want on screen. These files are the identity lock for keyframes (image-to-image when a photo exists) and for MiniMax references.

There are no preset characters in Workflow 2.0. If you skip uploads, the board should not invent named people, and opening frames may be empty environments when nobody is marked visible at the start of the clip.

A sharp photo is the identity lock for keyframes and MiniMax references.

Use the same @Name in clip descriptions

On Storyboard, mention on-screen characters as @DisplayName. The name must match the cast exactly, including capitalization.

  • Tag people who are visible in that clip.
  • Skip off-screen or “not in frame” mentions.
  • Do not invent @ names that are not in the cast.

Unknown mentions can block keyframe generation. After you change names, edit old clip text or Regenerate Scenes.

Check every opening frame

On Keyframe, walk the grid. Confirm it is the same person, wardrobe and hair from clip to clip when the story says it should be.

If a still drifted:

  1. Open Edit Image
  2. Keep the correct character photos in Reference images
  3. Describe the face and outfit in the frame prompt
  4. Generate a new still, or Replace a better still from history

Do this before Generate Videos. Video follows the bound opening frame as Image 1.

Repair one clip at a time

When only one shot is wrong, regenerate that frame or that video. You do not need to rerun Music Analysis.

If many clips used the wrong person because the storyboard never tagged them, update clip descriptions (or regenerate scenes with the right cast) and then regenerate the affected keyframes.

On Video, the Image tab can replace the opening still without touching other clips. Generate that clip's video again so motion matches the new still.

FAQs

How many characters can I use?

Up to five uploaded references. Workflow 1.0 allows two, including presets. Studio Create has upload-only cast slots.

Why did a character disappear in a later clip?

The clip description may not @mention them, they may enter after the opening frame, or the opening still was generated without their photo. Add @Name if they should be visible, then regenerate that keyframe with their reference attached.
