How to Use BeatViz Editor on Phone and Tablet
BeatViz Editor is available through different layouts depending on screen width. On phones, it uses the Chat interface to keep the preview, timeline, and generation conversation accessible in a smaller space. On tablets and desktops, you can switch between Classic and Chat.
What changes on a phone?
At screen widths below 768 px, there is no Classic/Chat switch. Opening the Classic editor route sends you to Chat while retaining the same project. The preview and timeline stay on the main screen, with Library and Chat buttons along the bottom.
The panels open from the bottom of the screen: the material-library panel occupies approximately 78% of screen height and the conversation panel approximately 92%. Opening one closes the other. The mobile Chat material library shows Images and Videos; Classic's Storyboard and Prompts tabs are not shown there.
Create an image or video on your phone
- Open your Editor project in Chat.
- Tap Chat to open the conversation panel.
- Select image or video generation and add a prompt or available references.
- Review the confirmation card and tap Confirm.
- Open Library to view your completed images or videos.
If an asset is generating and the library panel is closed, the Library button may blink. Tapping a completed video in Library previews it and closes the library; it does not add the video to your timeline.
Add a video to the timeline on a phone
- Find the + button to the right of the last timeline clip.
- Tap + to open a picker that shows completed videos.
- Tap the finished video you want to add. BeatViz appends it to the end of the timeline.
An image, running job, or failed video cannot be inserted as a video clip. The video track remains a continuous sequence without gaps.
How is the tablet layout different?
On tablets, Chat's conversation column becomes narrower to make more room for the preview, and the materials remain next to the preview. Video clips are placed on the timeline by dragging rather than using the phone-only + flow. The Create Mode switch remains available when the screen is at least 768 px wide.
When the screen is below 1024 px, Editor shows a one-time suggestion to use a desktop for the full experience. Once dismissed, that notice stays dismissed across the two modes.
Do lip sync and exports work differently?
Chat uses its Lipsync timeline switch for selecting a clip; the generation eligibility and credit rules are the same as Classic. Export is in the top bar and requires at least one video clip on the timeline. For the full rules, read LipSync and Export.
FAQs
Why can't I find Storyboard on my phone?
Phones open Chat, whose library has only Images and Videos. Open Classic on a desktop or tablet to access Storyboard and Prompts.
Does tapping a video in Library add it to the timeline?
No. It previews the video. Use the timeline's + button to insert it.
Can I switch from Chat to Classic on a tablet?
Yes, at supported screen widths, using the Create Mode switch in the top bar.
