How to Lip Sync an AI Music Video Clip in BeatViz Editor
BeatViz LipSync uses a completed video already on your timeline and the corresponding section of your uploaded song to generate synchronized mouth movements. The same underlying LipSync feature works in Classic and Chat; the controls used to start it are different.
Before you start: check the timeline clip
Your video must already be on the timeline. It must be completed, have a valid video file, and meet these requirements:
- Maximum clip duration: 15 seconds. Trim longer clips first.
- Minimum clip duration: approximately 0.5 seconds; clips shorter than 0.5 seconds are not eligible.
- Playback speed: 1x.
- Content: A still/frozen clip is not eligible.
- Audio range: The clip cannot extend beyond the end of the uploaded song.
LipSync uses the audio beneath the selected clip on the project timeline. You do not need to upload a separate audio segment for that clip.
Method 1: LipSync in Classic Editor
- Open the project in Classic and place your finished video on the timeline.
- Select the video clip.
- In the left Video generator, enable LipSync, then start generation.
Or right-click the timeline clip and choose LipSync. Both Classic entry points start the same type of job.
Method 2: LipSync in Chat Editor
- Add a completed video to the timeline and check the eligibility requirements above.
- Find the Lipsync switch just to the left of the scissors control on the Chat timeline.
- Slide it to the right to enter clip-selection mode.
- Click the clip you want to lip-sync. A confirmation window shows the credit cost.
- Choose Confirm to begin, or Cancel to leave without paying. Slide the switch back to the left to exit the selection mode.
How many credits does LipSync use?
LipSync costs 20 credits per second. Partial seconds are rounded up to the next whole second. A 5-second clip therefore costs 100 credits; a clip just over 5 seconds is billed as 6 seconds. The maximum supported clip length is 15 seconds. The confirmation dialog displays the cost in Chat; insufficient credits open the pricing window.
What happens during and after LipSync?
The timeline clip is locked while the job runs; it cannot be moved, trimmed, or deleted. In Chat it shows Lipsyncing. When the task succeeds, the timeline clip is replaced in place, and the completed lip-synced video is also available as a new item in your material library. If the job fails, the credits are returned and the original timeline clip remains.
Important: preview audio versus final export audio
A lip-synced clip may play its own embedded sound in the Editor preview, so you can review mouth synchronization. The finished exported music video is combined with the original uploaded song, not the lip-synced clip's audio track. This is an important difference to understand when reviewing your final video.
FAQs
Can I lip-sync a clip longer than 15 seconds?
No. Trim it to 15 seconds or less, keep playback at 1x, and check that it stays within the song's duration.
Does LipSync cost credits if I cancel in Chat?
No. The Chat LipSync confirmation dialog shows the cost; canceling before submission does not charge credits.
Does a failed LipSync overwrite my original timeline clip?
No. The original clip stays in place, and the failed job's credits are returned.
