How to Use Storyboard and Prompts to Plan an AI Music Video

A full music video needs more than a set of unrelated AI clips. In BeatViz Editor Classic, the Storyboard and Prompts tabs help you plan the song visually before generating all your scenes.

What does Storyboard do?

Storyboard works from the audio file uploaded to your Editor project. It analyzes the audio and creates a sequence of scene descriptions for the song. It is a visual plan, not the finished video timeline and not a standalone audio-analysis report.

You choose a target scene length of 4, 5, 6, 8, or 10 seconds, with 8 seconds as the default. The scene plan is then organized around that target duration. The optional character image can be used as context for the story.

Step 1: Open Storyboard in Classic

Open your Editor project in Classic and select Storyboard in the material library. If you are currently in Chat on a desktop or tablet, switch to Classic using Create Mode.

Step 2: Choose your target scene length

Pick 4, 5, 6, 8, or 10 seconds. Shorter target sections support a more frequent change of scenes; longer target sections provide more room for a sustained shot. This setting helps structure the storyboard; it does not override the duration choices offered by each video-generation model.

Step 3: Review the generated scene plan

Start the Storyboard flow. BeatViz analyzes the song and develops a scene-by-scene story. Read the scene descriptions in sequence and consider whether they fit the movement of your music and the character you want viewers to follow.

Step 4: Edit individual scenes

You can edit the written content of an individual storyboard segment. Use this when a scene has the wrong subject, action, or visual direction. For example, a chorus might call for a live performance shot while the verse shows the singer in a quiet location.

Step 5: Open Prompts for image and video instructions

The Prompts tab builds on your Storyboard by providing image prompts and video prompts for each scene. You can review and edit them before you generate the related media.

An image prompt describes how the starting image should look. A video prompt describes the motion or action to generate. These are different jobs: a useful first frame gives the model a visual starting point, while a video prompt tells the model what happens next.

Move from a plan to actual footage

When you are satisfied with the prompts, generate images in Classic Image Generation, create moving shots in Classic Video Generation, and insert finished videos on the timeline. Storyboard scenes and generated assets do not automatically become clips on the timeline.

FAQs

Is Storyboard the same as the timeline?

No. Storyboard is a planning tool. The timeline is where completed video clips are arranged over your song.

Can I edit the scene descriptions?

Yes. The current Storyboard interface allows editing an individual scene's text; the Prompts tab also lets you edit its generated prompts.

Is there a separate Audio Analysis tab?

No. Audio analysis is part of Storyboard generation.
