How to Generate AI Images and First Frames in BeatViz Editor

In Classic Editor, you can generate AI images for your music video's visual direction or use them as first-frame references for moving shots. A first frame helps establish a shot's composition, character appearance, and style before video generation begins.

Step-by-step: create an image in Classic

  1. Open your project in Classic Editor.
  2. In the generator below the material library, switch to Image.
  3. Select an image model.
  4. Write a prompt describing the subject, setting, framing, lighting, and visual style.
  5. Add optional reference images. If your project has an active character image, it automatically occupies the first reference slot.
  6. Choose an image resolution when the model offers that option and select an aspect ratio.
  7. Click Generate. The credit cost applies when generation is submitted. If your balance is insufficient, BeatViz opens the pricing window.

When the job completes, find the result in the Images tab of the material library. The image does not go onto the video timeline directly.

Write a prompt in the Classic generator, choose a model and aspect ratio, then generate the image.

Choose the right image model

These are the model settings described in the current Editor functionality document. Credits and models can change; the generator is the source of truth at the time you create.

Image modelBase creditsMaximum reference imagesResolution options
GPT Image 2210No selection
Nano Banana35No selection
Nano Banana 2381K, 2K, 4K
Nano Banana Pro681K, 2K, 4K
Seedream 5.05101K, 2K

For Nano Banana 2 and Nano Banana Pro, moving each step from 1K to 2K or 2K to 4K adds 4 credits. Examples: Nano Banana 2 costs 3 / 7 / 11 credits at 1K / 2K / 4K; Nano Banana Pro costs 6 / 10 / 14.

Understand aspect ratios in Classic

Classic image generation offers 16:9, 9:16, 1:1, 3:4, and 4:3. These image choices can differ from the 16:9 or 9:16 setting chosen when you created the project. The project's aspect ratio remains the setting used for Chat generations and final export.

Use a character reference for visual consistency

When you uploaded a character during project setup, BeatViz removed the image background and automatically placed that character in the first reference slot for image generation. You can change the visual references you use for a given shot. If you remove the project's automatically applied character reference, it will not automatically reappear elsewhere in this project, including Chat.

A clear first-frame image can help a video model maintain a recognizable character or setting, but it does not guarantee identical output across separate generations.

Turn your image into a video

Open the Video generator, select a model, and optionally use a generated image as its first frame. Your video prompt should describe the motion, action, or camera movement that follows that first frame.

FAQs

Can I place a still image directly on the timeline?

No. Only completed video files can become timeline clips.

Are Chat image settings the same as Classic?

No. Chat image generation uses a fixed 1K resolution and the project's saved aspect ratio. See Chat image and video settings.

Does a character reference automatically apply to videos?

No. It is automatically applied to image generation, not video generation.
